My top 5 must do’s in Stavanger

If you are planning a trip to Stavanger these are my recommendations;

Pulpit Rock /Preikestolen :  It technically isn’t located in Stavanger but its a short fairy ride away. If you enjoy the out doors and beautiful sceneries you will love doing this hike. It took us about an hour and a half to get to the top, the view was so breath taking it was worth every step of the way (I was sore for 3 straight days… no joke). I would highly recommend going on a warm and dry day, other wise I suggest you take:

  • Completely closed shoes or preferably hiking ones
  • Energy bar to snack on or some fruits for an extra energy boost
  • Hot tea/ coffee or broth to sip on and keep warm at the top
  • Extra pair of socks (my feet got soaked)
  • Gloves

Three swords in stone : This monument by Fritz Røed is commemorating the battle of Hafrsfjord in 872 AD.  The scenery is absolutely beautiful, perfect for pictures!

Centrum : Narrow little streets filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants. Make sure you check out the “colorful street”.  Stavanger’s harbour is also located across the centrum.

Old Stavanger : The cutest little street filled with white wooden houses preserved from the 18th century.

Sola beach : Near the Sola airport this 2.3 km beach is so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing (During the winter months).
