Hei Finland!

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – Andre Gide

After 2 plane rides and 6,093 km, I have finally made it to Finland! This mean we get to experience a new place, new home and new adventures.

Let me  just begin by saying that my expectations were way off, I was expecting to get into a very tiny and isolated town but to my surprise Hämeenlinna is not AS small as I thought. The city is calm, the nature is beautiful and the people are friendly and kind.

The nice thing about being in Europe during the summer is that the days are longer and its light out until 10 o’clock. The weather is perfect, the days are hot but you can actually feel the cool wind.

There is a decent size “shopping center” in town which is walking distance with a few clothing stores, cafes, restaurants and a grocery store.

We also got a really nice apartment, probably the nicest one we’ve  lived in during the hockey season. Everything is so modern and we have the cutest neighbors!
